Oregon Center for Applied Science: Background Information

ORCAS was formed in 1989 by Dennis Ary and John Noell, two research scientists who believed that the knowledge contained in scientific journals could be applied to create tools and products that enhance the quality of peoples lives. Together, they formed the Oregon Center for Applied Science, now ORCAS.  In 2010, Michael Mulvihill joined ORCAS as CEO and facilitated the transition to a healthcare technology company with a renewed mission of becoming the market leader in health care technology solutions for behavioral health. Thus far, ORCAS has conducted over 120 research projects with funding from the National Institutes of Health, and has been a recipient of numerous awards recognizing our contribution to the production of high quality public health materials for the web.
