TechCrunch Profiles MoodHacker and Depression in the Workplace

Catherine Shu, a contributor to the online technology magazine, TechCrunch, profiled MoodHacker and it’s impact on employee absenteeism (and presenteeism) due to depression. Ms. Shu has written about her personal struggle with depression as well as an excellent article about how founders of technology startups cope with depression while trying to get a new company off the ground.

As many people know firsthand, attempting to work effectively in the midst of a depressive episode is extraordinarily difficult and is not often talked about. Reducing the stigma of depression in the workplace, in addition to providing a self-management tool for employees dealing with pre-clinical and clinical depression, is a principal reason that ORCAS targets EAPs, wellness and population health management organizations, employer groups, and healthcare plans as their primary customers.
